gentrification

in my inexpert opinion, this article is doing a decent job of steering people away from gentrifying. but it would benefit from an explicit bringing up of the topic of gentrification and i'm thinking here of the sub-type of gentrification that involves moving from a rich country to a country where things cost less, and the impacts on locals of showing up and waving fistfuls of money around (even if it doesn't feel like it because you're broke where you came from). --Marsupial (talk) 03:50, 20 August 2025 (UTC)

I received this unsigned comment on my talk page. copying it to here for conversation continuity. "yes! I 100% agree this would be a great topic to add, perhaps as a general (not country-specific) topic. But maybe country pages can link to ways to uplift community voices/organizations"

I think the recent addition to the page are a great start for that conversation! If more folks have suggestions on that topic, it would be great! - K3lk1gjr2 (talk) 15:32, 26 August 2025 (UTC)
